Introduction

The objective of the course is to provide students with the knowledge necessary to understand the role and responsibilities of Project Management Offices (PMOs) in organizations.

Course content is based on the best practices described by PMI® PMBOK Guide®.

Objectives

At the end of this course students will be able to:

  • Understand the roles that the Project Office can perform and what benefits it brings to the organization
  • Learn the different types of PMO and its relationship to the level of maturity in the organization
  • Understand the roles, responsibilities, and competencies needed in a project office
  • Understand the process for launching a Project Office in an organization

Student Profile

Program managers, project managers, directors, managers, and in general, anyone who has an interest in knowing, using, and implementing Project Management Offices (PMOs) in their organization.

Prerequisites

We recommend students have project management knowledge and have management experience.

Course Materials

Each student will receive a copy of the documentation prepared by Netmind.

Methodology

Engaging and interactive course. Our instructors teach all course materials using the demonstrative method; the participants learn new concepts through exercises and real application practices.

Certification

There isn’t an official certification associated with this course. However, students will earn 7 credit hours for their attendance.

Accreditation

A certificate of attendance will be issued to students who attend the course for at least 75% of the duration.

    5. Roles, responsibilities, and competencies of PMO members
  3. Implement to PMO
    1. Evaluation of the disposition to change
    2. Identification of success factors based on maturity and ‘quick wins’
    3. Business Case and Project Charter of PMO implementation
    4. Tools needed
    5. Transition: pilot projects and measured results
    6. PM Maintenance
