Introduction

The goal of the course is for students to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to apply DevOps principles in a practical way. Through DevOps theory, examples, exercises, group discussions, and role assignments, this training will help you know how to apply DevOps in a practical context.

Objectives

At the end of this course students will be able to:

  • Explain the importance of the DevOps culture and the aspects that influence it
  • Explain the importance of value, team-building, leadership, and continuous improvement
  • Explain why value is essential to enable trust, honesty, and experimentation
  • Identify and evaluate the different types of behavior in a DevOps environment
  • Recognize signals that indicate impediments and / or failures in teams
  • Describe how to build good DevOps teams and assess their maturity
  • Understand the effects of happiness and motivation on team performance
  • Identify how leaders should provide feedback and transparency
  • Discuss the factors leaders can influence to build a trusted environment
  • Explain how and why leaders promote a “Safe to fail” environment
  • Analyze value chains to improve output and flow
  • Facilitate tools for continuous integration: structured problem solving, Story Mapping sessions, and retrospectives.

Student Profile

  • IT professionals involved in the development, operation, or management of services
  • IT professionals affected by DevOps and continuous delivery

Prerequisites

  • DASA DevOps Fundamentals Certificate
  • Basic knowledge of Agile, Scrum, Lean, and ITSM principles

Course Materials

Each student will receive a copy of the course documentation prepared by DASA.

This documentation is supplemented by additional reference sections so that the student can apply the training to his or her actual work.

Methodology

Engaging and interactive face-to-face course. Our instructors teach all course materials using the demonstrative method; the participants learn new concepts through exercises and real application practices.

Accreditation

A certificate of attendance will be issued to students who attend the course for at least 75% of the duration.

Certification

At the end of the training, the student will be able to obtain the required DASA certification by successfully completing the DevOps Professional – DASA exam. The features of the DevOps Professional – DASA exam are:

  • Exam Format

    • Participants can bring draft paper
  • Questions
    • 12 multiple choice questions
  • Approval Score
    • 60%
  • Exam Duration
    • 45 minutes
    • 15 minutes of overtime for non-native English speakers

Additionally, students will earn 21 credit hours for their attendance.
