Introduction

During this two-day course, participants will acquire the knowledge needed to lead a Lean-Agile enterprise by leveraging the Scaled Agile FrameworkĀ® (SAFeĀ®) and its underlying principles derived from Lean, systems thinking, Agile development, product development flow, and DevOps. Participants will acquire the knowledge required to master business agility and become more competitive. They will discuss how to establish technical and team agility and how to organize and reorganize around value flow.Ā  They will also learn and practice the skills required to support and execute IP Planning events and coordinate multiple Agile Release Trains (ARTs).

Participants will explore the importance of adopting a customer-centric mindset and a Design Thinking approach for agile product delivery. In addition, this course will enable them to understand and implement a Lean Portfolio Management function in their organization.

Attending the course prepares students to take the exam and obtain the SAFe Agilist Ā® (SA) certification.

Objectives

Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Lead the transformation toward business Agility with SAFeĀ®.
  • Become a Lean-Agile Leader.
  • Understand customer needs with Design Thinking.
  • Enable Agile Product Delivery.
  • Implement Lean Portfolio Management.

Participants will receive:

  • Course registration includes:
    • Workbook.
    • Preparation and eligibility to take the SAFeĀ® 6 Agilist exam.
    • One year of membership in the SAFeĀ® Community Platform.
    • Certificate of course completion.

Participants must attend both days of the course to be eligible for the exam.

Prerequisites

Anyone can attend the course, regardless of their level of experience. However, the following prerequisites are highly recommended for those who intend to take the SAFeĀ® 6 Agilist (SA) certification exam:

  • More than 5 years of experience in software development, testing, business analysis, product or project management.
  • Experience in Scrum.

Participants who choose to attend the course remotely must have access to a computer in order to follow the sessions.

Each participant will receive the official Scaled Agile documentationĀ workbookĀ fromSAFeĀ®.

Methodology

Our face-to-face course is active and encourages participant engagement and involvement. This course is delivered face-to-face or in OpenClass format. The instructor will introduce the content using a demonstration-based approach through explanations, examples, and videos, among other methods. Participants will consolidate the knowledge through application and real exercises.

Due to intellectual property requirements, Scaled Agile courses delivered live are not allowed to be recorded.

Certifications

Attending the course prepares participants to take the exam and become a certified SAFeĀ® Agilist (SA).

Participants who pass the certification exam will receive:

  • SAFeĀ® Agilist certificate in PDF format.
  • A SAFeĀ® 6 Agilist digital badge to promote their achievements online.
  • A one-year certified SAFeĀ® Agilist membership, which includes access to the SA Community of Practice.
  • Access to Meetup groups and events with other SAFeĀ® certified professionals.
  • Access to a variety of learning resources to support certified professionals.

Participants may be eligible to apply for 15 PDUs toward their continuing education requirements with the Project Management Institute (PMI)®for certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP)®, Program Management Professional (PgMP)®, and PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)®.

Participants can apply for SEUs under Category C to earn or renew their CSP through Scrum Alliance.

Participants with attendance below 100% will be required to complete additional activities to be eligible for the official exam, provided that their attendance is above 75%.

The terms of additional certification services are subject to those established by the license owner or the authorized certification body.

Accreditation

A Certificate of Attendance for course JJM 151 will be issued only to participants with an attendance above 75%, and a Diploma of Achievement will be awarded if they also pass the assessment test.
