In the Design Thinking Advanced course, students will take their use of the Design Thinking process to the next level by expanding their toolkit of techniques and learning how to connect ideation to service mapping and actually generating business from ideas. Students will also dive into Service Design and Business Design methods using tools like Blueprint or Customer Development Experiments.

If you are just getting started in Design Thinking, see our Design Thinking Fundamentals course or our Design Thinking. Develop Innovative Products and Services course, which includes both the Foundational and Advanced course materials.

At the end of this course students will be able to:

  • Utilize alternative methods for doing research and gaining customer empathy
  • Design and create Design Research processes using multiple techniques
  • Map the services created and understand how a user’s journey impacts internal tasks
  • Create experiences that allow us to validate not only the ideas we have of our products but also the business hypotheses
