Applying a Lean-Agile Mindset with SAFe^®

Foundational SAFe Course

During this two-day course, attendees gain the knowledge necessary to lead a Lean-Agile enterprise by using the Scaled Agile Framework^® (SAFe) and its underlying principles derived from Lean, systems thinking, Agile development, product development flow, and DevOps.

Participants in the class gain insights into mastering business agility to thrive in competitive markets. They discuss how to establish team and technical agility and organize and re-organize around the flow of value. Attendees also learn and practice the skills to support and execute PI Planning events and coordinate multiple Agile Release Trains (ARTs). Class participants will explore the importance of adopting a customer-centric mindset and Design-Thinking approach to Agile Product Delivery. Learners will also understand how to implement a Lean Portfolio Management function within their enterprise.

Attending the class prepares individuals to take the exam and become a certified SAFe^® Agilist (SA).

Prerequisites

There are no prerequisites to attend this course. However, the following prerequisites are highly recommended for those who intend to take the SAFe^® Agilist (SA) certification exam:

• 5+ years’ experience in software development, testing, business analysis, product, or project management
• Experience in Scrum

Course Materials

Each student will receive a copy of the course documentation workbook prepared by Scaled Agile as well as membership to the SAFe Community Platform for one year ($100 renewal for each year thereafter).

Accreditation

• A certificate of completion will be issued to students who attend this course.
• Attendees are eligible to apply for 15 PDUs toward their PMP^® continuing education requirements with the Project Management Institute^® (PMI^®). See the SAFe website for the PMI Talent Triangle^® allocation and also for applicable hours towards other PMI certifications.
• Attendees may be eligible to apply for SEUs under Category C, toward earning or renewing their CSP through Scrum Alliance.

Certification

Attending both days of this course prepares and qualifies individuals to take the exam and become a certified SAFe Agilist (SA). Students will be registered with Scaled Agile to take the SA exam at their convenience within 30 days of attending the course. Get details on the SA certification exam.

Students who successfully pass the certification exam will receive a certificate and a digital badge to promote their achievement virtually.
