Introduction

The goal of the course is for students to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to start implementing a software deployment methodology following DevOps. During the course we will cover the topics of continuous delivery, the relationship between DevOps and the ITSM, Lean and Agile methodologies, and analyzing the value contributed to the business. The concepts will apply to any technology that supports the necessary functionalities.

Objectives

At the end of this course students will be able to:

  • Explain the driving elements for the DevOps emergency
  • Define and discuss the key concepts and principles of DevOps
  • List and explain the business benefits of DevOps and continuous delivery
  • Describe the service delivery process
  • Explain the concepts of test automation, infrastructure, builds, and deployments
  • Describe the relationship between DevOps and the Lean and Agile methodologies
  • Learn different cases of IT transformation adaptable to DevOps models
  • List the most common and popular tools for DevOps
  • Discuss critical success factors for DevOps implementation

Prerequisites

A basic knowledge of Agile, Scrum, Lean, and ITSM principles will be helpful.

Course Materials

Each student will receive a copy of the course documentation prepared by DASA.

This documentation is supplemented by additional reference sections so that the student can apply the training to his or her actual work.

Methodology

Engaging and interactive face-to-face course. Our instructors teach all course materials using the demonstrative method; the participants learn new concepts through exercises and real application practices.

Certification

At the end of the training session, students will be able to obtain the DASA certification by successfully completing the DevOps  Fundamentals – DASA exam. The features of the DevOps Fundamentals – DASA exam are:

  • Exam Format
    • Closed book format
    • Web-based
    • Participants can bring draft paper
  • Questions
    • 40 multiple choice questions
  • Pass Score
    • 65%
  • Exam Duration
    • 60 minutes
    • 15 minutes extra time for non-native English speakers

Additionally, students will earn 28 credit hours for their attendance.

Accreditation

A certificate of attendance will be issued to students who attend the course for at least 75% of the duration.
