Introduction

Learn the fundamentals of the Kanban Method. Learn the Kanban Method and the concepts of flow, pull, and collaborative improvement. Become faster and more responsive, with better risk management and governance.

The class includes a Kanban simulation as well as interactive exercises to design an actual Kanban System.

Objectives

At the end of this course students will be able to:

  • Describe and explain the Kanban Method
  • List Kanban principles and practices
  • Visualize different types of work
  • Visual board design and ticket design
  • Deal with interrupted work and multi-tasking
  • Design single service Kanban systems
  • Manage commitment points/meetings
  • Understand pull systems
  • Understand classes of service
  • Learn how to create flow in the work

Student Profile

This course is designed for professionals who are accountable for service delivery, managers, and team members who want to start a Kanban initiative or get more out of their current Kanban system.

Prerequisites

Attendees are expected to have some experience in service delivery, or have read “Kanban” by David J Anderson or “Kanban from the Inside” by Mike Burrows.

Course Materials

Each student will receive a copy of the official Lean Kanban University documentation. Students will also receive the eBook: “Kanban: Successful Evolutionary Change for Your Technology Business”, by David Anderson, or a 50% discount voucher for “Kanban from the Inside”, by Mike Burrows.

Methodology

Engaging and interactive face-to-face course. Our instructors teach all course materials using the demonstrative method; the participants learn new concepts through exercises and real application practices.

Certification

This training is certified by Lean Kanban University – Step 1 in earning the Kanban Management Professional (KMP) certificate. (Step 2 is our Kanban Management Professional (KMP II) course.)

Additionally, students will earn 14 credit hours for their attendance.

Accreditation

A certificate of attendance will be issued to students who attend the course for at least 75% of the duration.
