Introduction to the Essential Skills for Business Analysis Course

This course provides a comprehensive set of knowledge, tools, and techniques to be used in Business Analysis within organizations, based on internationally recognized best practices, aligned with the BABOK® Guide from IIBA® (International Institute for Business Analysis).

Essential Skills for Business Analysis teaches the fundamentals of business analysis to professionals, whether experienced or not. The workshops, led by the tutor, allow participants to practice the techniques as they learn them. Depending on the participants’ level of knowledge, the case studies and workshop discussions facilitate understanding of the concepts at all levels of experience.

 

 

Objectives – Essential Skills for Business Analysis

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Understanding the what, why, and how of business analysis and requirements.
  • Elicit requirements from stakeholders using a variety of effective techniques.
  • Practice creative thinking skills to engage stakeholders, uncover needs, and identify new approaches and ideas.
  • Decide on the most appropriate techniques for eliciting and analyzing requirements based on the project, the stakeholders, and the information to be obtained.
  • Use the most appropriate analysis techniques to analyze, detail, communicate, and share information with stakeholders in order to enable review and understanding of requirements.
  • Make the most of models and diagrams.
  • Recognize the different levels of requirements and know how to categorize them in each project.
  • Define “excellent” requirements.
  • Explain why requirements must be managed to achieve traceability, impact analysis, and reusability.

 

Participant Profile – Essential Skills for Business Analysis

This course has been designed for business analysts, project managers, business systems analysts, systems architects, or any other member of a project team involved in analysis.

 

Prerequisites – Essential Skills for Business Analysis

There are no specific prerequisites for attending this course. It is intended for individuals who manage or participate in projects.

 

ESBA Documentation

In order to follow the course, participants will receive a copy of the documentation prepared by Netmind (the course materials are provided in English).

 

ESBA Course Methodology

Face-to-face course using a demonstrative, active, and participatory methodology. The instructor will introduce the content using a demonstration-based approach, and participants will consolidate their learning through real-world application exercises.

 

JIS 402 Course Certifications

Assessment based on group and/or individual activities. The trainer will provide ongoing feedback, at the end of each activity, and individually to each participant.

Attendance at this course grants32 PDUs from the Project Management Institute.

VIEW CERTIFICATION

 

JIS 402 Course Accreditation

A Certificate of Attendance for the JIS 402 course will be issued only to participants with attendance above 75%, and a Diploma of Achievement will be issued if they also pass the assessment test.
