Introduction

In 2017, AXELOS updated the PRINCE2® guide and launched new exams for the Foundation and Practitioner levels. This update is the most significant revision of PRINCE2® since 2009. 

This course is specifically designed to prepare for the PRINCE2® 6th edition Practitioner exam, collects all the new features of the 2017 edition.

Objectives

At the end of this course, students will be able to: 

  • Deepen in the correct application of PRINCE2® 
  • Know in-depth the different management documents used in PRINCE2®
  • Clearly distinguish the particularities of the various management roles in PRINCE2® 
  • Know how to adapt PRINCE2® to different project environments
  • Apply and adjust the essential aspects of PRINCE2® themes in the context of a project
  • Apply and adjust the essential elements of PRINCE2® processes in the context of a project 
  • Prepare in-depth for the PRINCE2® 6th edition Practitioner Exam Preparation

Student profile

This course is intended for practicing project managers and anyone who manages projects, regardless of their role. It is also recommended for other stakeholders involved in the design, development and delivery of projects, including Project Board members, Team Leaders, Project Support members (e.g., Project and Program Office staff), managers…

This course is also very suitable for companies that frequently outsource internal or third-party projects. PRINCE2® shows how to delegate and manage projects from the customer’s point of view.

Prerequisites

Have one of the following certifications:

  • PRINCE2® 5th Edition Foundation from 2009 or later (Highly recommended)
  • Project Management Qualification (PMQ)*
  • Project Professional Qualification (PPQ)*
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)**
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)®**
  • Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)**
  • IPMA Level A® (Certified Projects Director)***
  • IPMA Level B® (Certified Senior Project Manager)***
  • IPMA Level C® (Certified Project Manager)***
  • IPMA Level D® (Certified Project Management Associate).***

Course Materials

Students will be provided with the official PRINCE2® Managing Successful Projects with PRINCE2® manual, which forms part of the documentation supplied with the PRINCE2® Foundation course.

Each participant will also receive a copy of the documentation produced by Netmind, which includes a case study with exercises related to each of the sections of the exam. The material will be delivered in English according to the language of the exam.

Methodology

The course includes the analysis and resolution of two sample exams used as the driving elements. The knowledge acquired in the Foundation course is reviewed and expanded, clarifying all the students’ doubts regarding the use of PRINCE2® in real environments.

Certification

At the end of the course, if the course is in OpenClass mode, students will receive a voucher to take the online exam. In face-to-face classes, the exam is taken on the last day of class, on paper.

As of November 1, 2019, the authorized certifying entity (AXELOS) establishes a mandatory requirement to take the exam associated with this training.

The conditions of the additional Certification services are subject to the terms of the license owner or the authorized certifying agent. 

16 PDUs from the Project Management Institute® are awarded for attending this course. PMP, PMI and CAPM are registered trademarks of the Project Management Institute®, Inc.

Accreditation

A Letter of Course Attendance will be issued only to students with an attendance of more than 75% and a Diploma of Achievement if they also pass the evaluation test.
