The entire Netmind US team knows that this month’s interviewee is a major driving force behind pretty much everything here. Get to know a little about all the different hats that Mary Paradiso wears to support our entire organization.
Let’s go to it!
Your title is Business Manager, but what do you actually do?
What I spend most of my time doing is related to accounting/bookkeeping, managing A/P & A/R, payroll, and benefits here in the US. I also handle things like our insurance, certain tax filings, the office lease, instructor payments, inventory forecast, etc. My job is very diverse and that is one of things I like the most about it. No two days are exactly the same and that keeps it interesting and exciting.
If you were a hashtag, what would it be and why?
#getitdone
I chose this hashtag because I think it closely describes my personal and work life. My days are usually planned and I’m well organized. The internet describes a person ‘who gets things done’ as diligent (adj.) – careful and persevering in carrying out tasks or duties.
What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?
It’s very cliché, but I’ll thank Ben Franklin for this one… ”Don’t put off until tomorrow what you can do today.” My parents said this to me a lot when I was growing up, and it really stuck. I don’t understand procrastination. I am sure we can all agree that a completed to-do list is super satisfying!
What is your favorite part of being on the Netmind team?
The fact that I get to work with amazing people each day. I started with B2T over 9 years ago and have watched the company transition through several changes, and we’ve always persevered. This wonderful group is truly my ‘work family’. I feel like we can always count on one another and everyone is a true team player. It’s very special to work with such caring, resourceful, and SUPER SMART people.
What’s your favorite thing to do outside of work?
Cook yummy food! I’ve been subscribing to my favorite cooking magazine for about 10 years. We love to try new recipes from it and I enjoy all the tips and techniques that are included too!
