NextB® Learning Framework

A Learning Framework for #AlwaysLearning Organizations

NextB® Learning is our innovative teaching methodology that was developed by our training team based on the principles, techniques, and practices of Training from the Back of the Room. Once change initiatives and programs have been designed, it is time to develop the capabilities needed to adopt change and create a learning culture built on empowered people.

The objectives that drove us to create this new methodology were to:

  • make learning more collaborative
  • increase the use of gamification
  • encourage visual learning
  • stimulate participant engagement
  • promote extended learning outside of the classroom 
  • take advantage of available online resources

This innovative framework allows us to accomplish all of this while also achieving our baseline goals of facilitating effective knowledge transfer, improving your experience, optimizing learning retention, and amplifying its impact.




NextB® structures all the training activities in 3 learning phases:

1. Prepare to Learn

Introduce participants to the learning activities

Explain the learning objectives

Motivate participants for maximum impact

Level-set knowledge and expectations

2. Learning Action

Transfer and apply knowledge

Practice using real-world scenarios

Share knowledge and experiences

Design on-the-job action plan

Evaluate learning experience

3. Learning Impact

Apply knowledge on the job

Reinforce knowledge

Answer questions

Share successes and failures

Evaluate learning impact

Promote a continuous learning culture

Our learning methodology is also supported by our Daily Role Mission game, a card game that we created to encourage student participation, foster their interest, share experiences, and consolidate knowledge.

As Training from the Back of the Room says, “images trump words”, we created an infographic to help explain the detail in each phase of our NextB® training methodology.
